Choosing the right words in your website is an essential key for content management system (CMS) and closer your target market. However, some websites select the key words by what they think, instead of what customer think. For instance, Ryan air used it's key word by low cost airline, but users type "cheap flight" to search what they want.

Selecting correct words in website can turn your online business into a booming success. Firstly, you can do market research from your friends, family or your target audience by asking them "what key words do you use when you search .....?" Doing market research is the best method to close your customers and knowing their buying behaviour.

Secondly, competitor analysis, go to competitors' website and select the key words they use and try to 'modify' these key words.

  2. only choosing single word.  80% of searches use more than 1 word
  3. Raking for industry (not client focused) keywords. ' budget flight' rather than 'cheapest flight'.
  4. Focus on top ranking words only
  5. out of focus on what business aims
